2005-10-30: Bulgarije: The last Bulgarian night and the mountains of Sofia

We do not came out of bed very easily. Especially Herbert has a long way, because his introduction with whiskey this travel. What goes around, comes around as my favorite artist Lenny Kravitz says. When we getting up we are very cold. It was around freezing point and it’s time to take a hot shower. There is no possibility to wash the car from the outside, so we take of very quick to Tony and Dani again. It will be our last day with the ladies. When it is possible we take of to the mountain Vitoscha. I was driving this time and I was very excited, because I am very careful with our baby now. This car is the biggest investment in my life for so far and I am used to work with much money from company’s, not with own investment. I am not scared of it, but I have worked to hard and make to much offers to get my trip into danger. I have build my life myself with own self believing and hard work from the day I was 13 I guess. Step by step I took what I earned. I had a good growing up, had learned the basics at home and made a proper education for myself. Now I even made it possible to collect enough money in short notice to make this travel. I can say it needs the right effort, but it is possible….again….! Only when you spend it on the wrong destination, it is rough to accept it is needed for the rest of the trip. You start concluding and you ask your self if this was the right investment. Now afterwards I know that it doesn’t matter. I would not do it another way I guess. The car is beautiful and became a part of you. All the energy spend in this car you find back when you drive when the sun falls in your inside mirror and a good tune on the radio. Take life as it comes to you and we will see. I like this project and now I am in Asia I am realizing all those things.

At the moment I drove to the ladies It was the new connection to a driving car again. We learned each other for a second time. Watching everything to be ok and be sure there is no oil trail after you. It should not be a oil trail, but the hippy trail.

This most work and so the trip goes on now driving again. For Herbert it is the same I guess but I can only speak for myself on this point.

When we come to the ladies, we drink a cup of coffee. Before we came here we saw the drive in from Mac Donald’s and we take some breakfast there. Dani wanted to make breakfast for us of the flower we have left after the cooking lessons earlier this week. Though she starts cooking and we liked it a lot. The things are called “Boegte” This is Dutch speaking and I don’t now how to spell it in Bulgarian.

Toni has to work again and after lunch we go to bring away Tony. It is a nice drive with the ladies in the back and after a while we stopped and said bye. We also have to do the laundry and Dani shows us the way. In the University place we bring the laundry and for 11,40 lewa we are done with this nasty job. The real issue is that we can wash ourselves, but we can’t dry the clothes in the car, so we have to do this externally. After this it is around three o clock and we decide to go up the mountain Vitoscha. It is normally a 20 minutes drive, but with de new engine and the hard drive to the top we are very careful and it takes us at least one hour to come at the top. We just missed the sun going down, but anyway we have this really nice view over Sofia. We had it in mind to see it from here, but I did not expect to come here. After a 45 minutes walk we decided to go down again and it seemed t o be that there was a bad light connection and we did not have front lights. We parked the car at the mountain and Herbert made an unusual connection but it worked. Only the heater was not working anymore and we found that out in this hour. It was freezing and we drove to the laundry room and had to wait, so we went of for diner in the university city. We had this meal and gone home afterwards.

We decided to rent a movie and after discussing which movie we had to take the peoples Herbert and Dani made a decision. The movie “Saw” it would be. I have never seen it. Anyway, I never have time to see movies. Meaby it is better that way. “At home” we sat down and starting to make cd roms with the burner. It worked very quickly and we made a several off them. We have to make about 40 cd-roms to back up and send them home.

After a little while Tony came home from work and we talked a little bit and had fun. Tony was really sharp this time. We also got this CD of Karizma, a locally Top 40 hit break. We heard it to much in the café of Monica and Gery and now we almost can sing it now by head. We drank a little and around 3 o’clock we went to bed again. It was a nice time again. What a really nice bed is it though…. Only Herbert want to get rid of my noisy sleep I guess.
